Marble gall

1.  I was born in 1947.  During my earliest years at Thorncombe, West Dorset, Primary School, marble galls, which we knew as oak apples, were collected and sewn into small cloth bags to make ‘bean bags’ which were used for indoor sports activities [Tooting, London, February 2015].
