Burning the Ashen Faggot, 2021

Posted on by royvickery |

As usual an ashen faggot was burnt at the Squirrel Inn, Laymore, on the Dorset/Somerset border, on the evening of 6 January.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the burning had to take place behind closed doors, and was not a public event.  However, ‘if you fancy participating in a bit of fun, guess how long it is going to take to burn … this year it is shorter and measures 7ft’

‘The last band broke at 3 hours, 17 minutes and 46 seconds’.
