BRIPRE 002In addition Arundel’s Roman Catholic Cathedral a number of Anglo-Catholic churches also produce floral carpets as part of their celebration of Corpus Christi.

One of these is St Bartholomew’s Church in Brighton, a church ‘noted for its unique style, superb traditional Anglo-Catholic liturgy, fine music and preaching’.   The image here, taken in May 2016, is of an undated photograph pinned on a church notice-board.

Note added 3 June 2024:  St Bartholomew’s no longer prepares a floral carpet for Corpus Christi; at its Solemn Mass to mark ‘The Most Holy Body & Blood (Corpus Christi) on Sunday 2 June 2024, there was no carpet, and, indeed, no flowers associated with the festival.
