The Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor was found ‘unresponsive’ in her south London flat on 26 July 2023.  She was 56.  Her death was reported as headline news in most British papers and received massive coverage on other media.

The photograph here was taken on 1 August, outside the block of flats, Loughborough Mansions, in Coldharbour Lane, London Borough of Lambeth.  In view of the amount of media coverage the number of flower and other tributes appeared to be rather small.  Perhaps this was because the flat was said to be in ‘Herne Hill’, whereas in fact it’s in north Brixton, on the border with Stockwell.
