Flowers to commemorate Gyorgy Krasso

Flowers placed at the base of a walnut, Juglans regia, planted in Russell Square, London Borough of Camden, in commemoration of the Hungarian patriot György Krassó (19 October 1932 – 13 February 1991).   A memorial meeting has been held in the Square, near the tree, in late October each year since it was planted in 1992.  A walnut tree was chosen because according to Chinese tradition walnuts are planted for the benefit of future generations; nuts were first seen on the tree in 2019.

Photographed 29 October 2020.
