Collecting the folklore and uses of plants

‘Folk Flora’ update, 2

The final draft of Vickery’s Folk Flora is finished, about one week behind   schedule.  It represents the distillation of over 40 years collecting.  With all the major entries completed it currently runs to some 238,000 words.  It is hoped that some of these can be shed during the final edit when  the illustrations will be selected.  The typescript  will be sent to the publishers, Orion, at the end of the year.  Publication is scheduled for April 2019.

In the meantime, selected additional information can still be added, and any memories dating from the 1960s to the present would be particularly appreciated.  Please see the Home Page of this website to gain an idea of the scope of the Flora, and send any contributions to roy@plant-lore.com
