Founder’s Day, Royal Hospital Chelsea, 2014

2014-06-05 11.06.29The  Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the famous Chelsea Pensioners, celebrated its Founder’s Day Parade, the Duke of Kent being the Reviewing Officer

As usual, the Grinling Gibbons statute of King Charles II had its plinth covered with oak (Quercus) branches, and Pensioners and guests wore sprigs of oak in their lapels.
