Holy Thorn in Worcester

120Photograph, taken on 28 November 2015, of a tree in the grounds of Worcester Cathedral.  Although unlabelled it is obviously the winter-flowering variety of hawthorn, known as the Holy, or Glastonbury, Thorn (Crataegus monogyna ‘Biflora’).

Updates                                                             1.  December 2016: This tree has no flowers at present, and looks unwell, possibly dying.

2. June 2019, when lower photograph taken:  Although the tree has some dead branches, it has more which look healthy and are thriving.

3. September 2021: Still with some dead branches, but apparently thriving.

Updated 26 September 2021.
