Japanese knotweed scare – 8

Posted on by royvickery |

According to the London Evening Standard of 10 June 2022, a businessman and his partner who live in Kensal Green, northwest London, are ‘locked in a bitter fight with their neighbours over “rampant” Japanese knotweed [Reynoutria, formerly Fallopiajaponica] they say has infested the foundations of their £1.6 million house’.

The businessman claims that the value of his home has diminished by 15% due to the ‘notoriously invasive plant getting out of control on his neighbours’ land’.  His neighbours claim that the knotweed  invaded the businessman’s property before they purchased the land in 2016.
