The CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship again formed part of the Malvern [Worcestershire] Autumn Show, from 22-24 September 2023.  Numerous misshaped, but massive, vegetables were entered in the various classes, and eight Guiness World Records were broken:  largest runner bean (Phaseolus coccineus) leaf, heaviest runner bean, tallest tomatillo (Physalis philadelphica) plant, longest luffa (Luffa aegyptiaca), heaviest bell pepper (Capsicum annuum), heaviest cucumber (Cucumis sativus) heaviest broadbean (Vicia faba) and longest broadbean.

Although press photographs inevitably focussed on large colourful  pumpkins, in fact the pumpkins (Cucurbita maxima) entered in the 2023 CANNA Championship were much less heavy than the winners in the now defunct Jubilee Sailing Trust Autumn Pumpkin Festival, formerly held in Hampshire.  The winning 2023 pumpkin weighed 100 stones, whereas the 2018 Netley winner weighed 173.85 stones.
