HampshireLive of 5 October 2022 reported that ‘Lymington [Hampshire] twins grow UK’s biggest pumpkin [Cucurbita maxima] that weighs as much as a Fiat 500′.   61-year-old twins, Ian and Stuart Paton, have grown a pumpkin weighing 2,656 lbs (1,205 kg), thus beating their 2020 record by 63 lbs. Their record pumpkin weighs just 47 lbs less than the world record, set in 2021 by Tuscan farmer Stefano Cutrupi, but the Patons have another ‘monster’ which will be weighed later in the year.  The twins spend at least six hours a day tending their pumpkins.
