Collecting the folklore and uses of plants

Plant-lore Archive – January 2022

Information trickled in throughout the month, with 11 items being received from 10 contributors.  Thus the Archive now contains 8,979 from 3,050 contributors.

Two New Year Wild Flower Hunts were arranged, and a Zoom lecture on the folklore of hedgerow plants was provided for the Shropshire branch of the Council for the Protection of Rural England.  Visits were paid to St Sava’s Serbian  Orthodox church and the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, both in London, to observe their Christmas celebrations, two apple tree wassailings, and events to commemorate the death of St Charles King and Martyr.

18 posts were added to the website’s blog.
