Collecting the folklore and uses of plants

Plant-lore Archive: March 2016

Posted on by royvickery |

March was a quiet month with only 6 items of information being received from two contributors – thanks to Hat Jodelka and Sandy Pepperell – so the Archive now contains 7163 items of information from 1871 contributors (up from 6986 and 1762 at the end of March 2015).

6062 searches were made of the website, the greatest number since June 2015.

A Facebook group – Plant-lore and Traditions – has been set up but it still requires further work, and at present has only three members.

Progress on finding a publisher to the proposed Folk Flora is steadily gathering momentum, and it is hoped that an agreement can be signed within the next month.  When this is done the final manuscript should be ready within 18 months with publication being anticipated in 2019.
