Plant Walk led by Roy Vickery, Streatham Cemetery, London Borough of Wandsworth, Sunday 22 May 2022, starting at 12.30 p.m., and continuing for about an hour; for further details see the Events page on this website.
Report: 25 people (and one pet rabbit) turned up on a hot afternoon and spent about 75 minutes exploring, mostly native, plants in the cemetery, starting with cat’s-ear, Hypochaeris radicata, and finishing with annual mercury, Mercurialis annua, the latter of which we were told by a Friend of the Cemetery is an important source of pollen for the cemetery’s bees.
‘Big thank you for the walk today – absolutely fantastic!’
‘An informative and entertaining walk.’
