Samuel Johnson’s willow

A willow, Salix, tree beside Stowe Pool in Lichfield is said to be a descendant of Samuel Johnson’s favourite tree.  The original tree fell during the 19th century, and a number of articles made from it, together with images of it over the years, are displayed in the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum.
