Tree to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II

Plaque beside copper beech (Fagus sylvatica ‘Purpurea’) planted by the Friends of Tooting Common, on Tooting Common, London, in November 2022 to ‘commemorate the lifetime of service by HM Queen Elizabeth II’.

This tree and wild cherry (Prunus avium) planted elsewhere on the Common were originally intended to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but as she died before the planting took place the words on both plaques were changed.
