Valentine’s Day 2016

004In London Valentine’s Day 2016 again provided florists with an opportunity to boost their incomes and most shops and stalls were overful of flowers on the day.  As usual red roses predominated, and other bunches of flowers were tarted up by having red hearts incorporated in them.  However, it appears that red roses may be losing their appeal and flower stalls in 2016 seemed to have a much wider range of flowers on offer.

The ‘hearts’ (sweetheart plant, Hoya kerrii) first noticed in 2015 do not appear to have become popular.  Only one was seen on sale, on the flower stall in the main concourse at Victoria station.
