The War Widows’ Association of Great Britain held its annual Service of Remembrance and Wreath Laying at the Cenotaph, in Whitehall, London, on 12 November 2022, at 12.30 p.m.
Their wreath consisted of a cross of fresh white chrysanthemums on which was superimposed a spray of artificial red poppies with small sprigsĀ of rosemary (for remembrance). It is said that the Association selected the white chrysanthemum as its emblem for the simple reason that it is easily available in November.
