Wedding flowers, 1929

Posted on by royvickery |

Thanks to Jane Lawson who has forwarded this photograph of her parents who married in St Barnabas (Roman Catholic) Cathedral, Nottingham, in 1929.

The bride is carrying a bouquet of white carnations, Dianthus caryophyllus, backed by an extravagant amount of what appears to be some sort of asparagus fern, and the groom wears a single white carnation in his lapel.
