Collecting the folklore and uses of plants

Red horse-chestnut

1. As kids we used to pull the flower apart and sip the nectar.  We used to live in [south] London, and I can’t remember if I discovered it or learnt from other kids to get the nectar.  I was into nature and flowers from a very early age [e-mail, May 2020].  Practice also recorded from Oxfordshire.
