Spinach

1. We lived out in India for quite a while, maybe this had something to do with what she [my mother] called natural healing …
[One] thing she did was for the dogs – we had red setters – we did have servants to groom, exercise, bath them, etc., but when mealtime arrived mum would supervise each dog. She would personally feed about 2-3 oz of cooked spinach. They never enjoyed this, but she hand fed them … then they had their food which was freshly cooked every day. They had the most beautiful coats, never had any skin complaints, and we never went to the vet [Upnor, Kent, October 1996].
