1. Discussion on British Wildflowers Facebook, May 2026:                                     Forget-me-not – my garden is full of them!! I was given a packet by the vets when I had to have my cat cremated … they grow and grow like memories [Maidstone, Kent].                                                                                                    My vet does this too and when they come up every year it’s a gentle reminder of much loved pets we have lost [Chester, Cheshire].

2. Girls in service used to take bunches of forget-me-nots to their mothers on Mothering Sunday to show that they had not forgotten them [Mitcham, Surrey, October 2023].

[Kent] Forget-me-nots – the story goes that as god was making the world he thought he had finished when a little voice piped up.  God realised he’d forgotten to colour a tiny flower.  So he gave it the most beautiful colour to ensure it would never again be forgotten [Ruskin Park, London, August 2018].
