Thank-you Tree in St Peter’s churchyard, East Sussex. The ‘tree’ composed of a metal base and trunk with wooden branches is covered with colourful ribbons:
‘St Peter’s Firle is a garden church. That means that we are working to find ways
to heal our relationship with all that lives in this planet
to celebrate the rich and varied tapestries of life
to acknowledge that all life is interdependent: that one life carries all life and all life carries one life ….’
Ribbons are available in the church porch and people are invited ‘to write on it the name of your favourite animal or bird or butterfly and tie it to the ribbon tree in front of the tower, and please place a pound or more in the box when you have done this. The money raised will go towards the work of this church.’
