The CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship formed part of the Malvern Autumn Show, at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, on 24-26 September 2021. Described as ‘a festival of gardening, food & drink, artisan produce & nostalgia’, other attractions included the Malvern Gin Show, a RHS flower show, a huge array of food and drink stalls, and a variety of animals including poultry, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

A  few new world records were achieved, including that for the heaviest broad bean (Vicia faba) pod – 106 gms, and the longest leek (Allium porrum) – 1.360 m, both grown by Joe Atherton, of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.  And, according to Metro of 27 September 2021, Vince Sjodin, of Barry in South Glamorgan, exhibited a world beating marrow (Cucurbita pepo), which weighed 255 lb, 48.5 lb heavier than the previous record which had been held by a Dutch grower since 2009.
