Plants placed at the base of a memorial in the Cathedral precints, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, to 17 local Protestant martyrs, killed between 1555 and 1558, during the reign of Queen Mary.  The occupations of some of the martyrs are recorded, and it appears that they were mainly skilled workers, such as weavers and wheelwrights.
