Rose commemorates Iranian protestor

Demonstrations against the Islamic Republic government of Iran started in late December 2025.  By mid January it a brutal government crackdown on protestors was preventing further protests.  It estimated that up to 36,500 protestors were killed.

The image here shows a white rose placed in a planter, near South Kensington underground station, London; the label reads ‘Joheil [?Fotanhi]. He was 17.  Killed in Iran by Islamic Regime.  Be the Voice of Iran’.

Photographed 6 February 2026; first noticed 2 February.
