Two events, neither of which is likely to have much plant-lore content (indeed, the subject of the evening talk would have probably dismissed such things as being frivolous),   on Tuesday 10 March:

11 a.m.:  Wild Flower Hunt, Wandsworth Common.

Report: Eight people turned up and apparently enjoyed this walk, during which we were able to find 26 species in flower, including osoberry, or Indian cherry, (Oemleria cerasiformis) which we couldn’t recognise and had to identify using an app.  A list of the species recorded is available from friends@wandsworthcommon.org

6.30 p.m.:  Job Lousley: Botanist and Banker, talk at St Olave’s Church, Hart Street, EC3.

Report:  About 30 people attended this talk, which is intended to be the first of a monthly series at St Olave’s.  People remained awake and alert and seem to have enjoyed hearing about what to many of them was a somewhat obscure subject.
