Great horsetail

1. Great horsetail (Equisetum telmateia) – this is uncommon hereabouts, but there is a big patch in Wychwood, and in my boyhood [?c.1915] I remember seeing a cottager nearby using it for scouring saucepans [Charlbury, Oxfordshire, February 1991].
