1. When our eldest went off to do botany at Oxford she took one [of these plants] with her to help her make new friends. This plant was doing the rounds in the mid 80s – the babies are easy to grow and removing them doesn’t spoil the plant as they tend to drop off anyway. We called it the friendship plant because you could give the babies away as a little gift and make new friends [Orpington, Kent, October 2011 & January 2013].
