After a quiet September activities gathered momentum in October. Interesting material was collected following a talk to the Storrington Horticultural Society, and much useful information relating to Scotland was received from the artist Ruth Ewan. The Archive now contains 7097 items of information from 1834 contributors.
5,500 searches of the website were made during the month.
Visits were made to the World Conker Championships at Southwick and Punky Night at Hinton St George.
Sample parts of A Folk Flora are now with an agent who seems confident that a suitable publisher can soon be found. Once a contract has been signed it is hoped that that the writing can be completed within 18 months. In the meantime additional information is being urgently sought. As has been stated many times before, any plant-lore, no matter how common and well-known it is considered to be, will be gratefully received, and comparatively recent memories, from the 1980s onwards, would be particularly appreciated.
Please send you contributions to http://roy@plant-lore.com now.
