Collecting the folklore and uses of plants

Plant-lore Archive: October 2016

camik-011Once again activities focused on the writing of A Folk Flora.  Entries are being prepared in alphabetical sequence, with those for adder’s tongue (Ophioglossum) to eelgrass (Zostera) being completed.

And, once again, this emphasis led to other activities being neglected.  However, eight extra items of information were received from seven contributors, mainly following a plant walk in Brockwell Park, London.  Consequently the Archive now contains 7330 items of information from 1969 informants.

5716 searches were made of the website during the month.

Visits were paid to the Ely Apple Festival and Apple Day at Borough Market, London.
