The annual National Pot Leek Society Show was held at Seaham, Co. Durham, Youth & Community Centre, on the weekend of the 29 and 30 August 2026.  While the main part of the venue was devoted to leeks, the North East Giant Vegetable Show occupied part of the space – ‘two great shows together in the one big hall’.

Despite it being a poor year for competitive leek growing the number of entries and the standard entries were said to be exceptionally good, there being over 90 entries in the main class.

The Giant Vegetable Show produced the usual display of malformed monsters, but even non-enthusiasts could not fail to be impressed by the amount of effort which must have gone into producing them, and getting them clean before showing.
