On Sunday 16 October Roy Vickery will be leading a tree walk on Tooting Common, London Borough of Wandsworth, meet at the café (off Bedford Hill, c. 15 minutes walk from Balham station) at 2.30 p.m.  Organised by the Friends of Tooting Common; all welcome.

Report:  Although the weather was unsettled weather and there was a heavy rain storm, about 15 people spent 75 minutes wandering around the Common examining some of its interesting trees, including  recently planted Mongolian lime (Tilia mongolica), a mature but unidentified elm (Ulmus), the hybrid between evergreen (Quercus ilex) and Turkey (Q. cerris) oaks, and small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata).
