REMINDER: Brockwell Park walk, 9 October

Posted on by royvickery |

Uses of Wild Plants, free walk led by Roy Vickery, Brockwell Park, London Borough of Lambeth, nearest stations Herne Hill and Tulse Hill; meet at the Clock Tower, at 2 p.m.  Organised by the Friends of Brockwell Park; all welcome.

Report:  Despite there being at least four other events in the Park, about 40 people turned up to the walk, and apparently enjoyed it (nearly all of them stayed to the end).  The plants examined were all very common ones, mainly ‘weeds’, including groundsel (Senecio vulgaris), greater plantain (Plantago major) and common mallow (Malva sylvestris).  A good number of people contributed memories to Plant-lore Archive.  Thank you!
