According to a brief report in the London Evening Standard of 15 July 2022, there is a ‘rocketing demand’ for sunflowers, Helianthus annuus, the national flower of Ukraine.  According the  supermarket chain Tesco, the demand ‘for sunflower bouquets was already up 120 per cent on the same time last year’.
