Report:  Although 14 people had booked only nine turned up; possibly the others were discouraged by rumours of strong winds, which failed to materialise.  Everyone  actively contributed to our discussions and consequently we moved slowly, covering only a short length of St Faith’s Road.  According to one participant we discussed approximately 40 species.  As expected these originated from many parts of the world:  some, such as redshank (Persicaria maculosa) were natives, but others such as false acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia)  from North America, and hedge veronica (Veronica sp.) from New Zealand, came from much further afield.
