Liam Payne of the boy band One Direction died on 16 October, as a result of a fall from a Buenos Aires hotel window.  He was 31.  Over the following days it was  reported that ‘fans gathered across the world’ to remember him.  It seems that in London the Peter Pan  statue in Kensington Gardens became the focus of their grief.
