Two events coming up:

Thursday 24 September:  Plants in early Autumn walk, starting at 11 a.m. from the Woodfield Pavilion, Tooting Common, and lasting for about one hour.

Report:  Six people gathered and enjoyed a slow walk around the field discussing some of the plants and plant-galls seen there.  As usual at this time of the year, we particularly enjoyed the fine spread of sowbread (Cyclamen hederifolium), introduced from Greece late in the sixteenth century, first recorded in the wild in Britain about 200 years later, and now extensively spreading.

Saturday 27 September:  annual Allotment Weeds survey, this year at Bandstand Beds on Clapham Common, staring at 11.30 a.m.  and continuing until c.1.30 p.m.  All welcome regardless of botanical knowledge.
