Commemorating of King Charles I, 2014

2014-02-02 13.35.32 One of four wreaths placed on the plinth of the equestrian statue of King Charles I, on the south side of Trafalgar Square, London, bearing a card reading ‘From the Officers and Members of the Order of the Crown of Stuart’, commemorating the beheading of the king on 30 January 1649. (Usually a wreath is also placed below the bust of the king outside the Banqueting House, Whitehall, but this does not seem to have been done in 2014).

Photograph taken 2 February 2014.
