The preparation of floral carpets for the Feast of Corpus Christi, celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, in 2025 Thursday 19 June,  has been frequently been mentioned on this website.  In Britain the most famous of these carpets is that prepared at the Roman Catholic cathedral of Our Lady and St Philip Howard, in Arundel, West Sussex.  However, the best known one is probably that displayed  at La Orotava, in Tenerife, Spain, here depicted on a postcard, posted from Sierra Leone, bearing a George V (reigned 1910-36) stamp.
