Corpus Christi, Toledo, 2022

Toledo, Spain, is famous for its Corpus Christi celebrations which take place over several days, and culminate in a lengthy procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi, 16 June in 2022.

The city is abundantly decorated with flowers and swags of box twigs, Buxus sempervirens (see Box under Material Collected on this website), the streets are strewn with wild thyme, Thymus sp.,  and rose, Rosa cv., petals are scattered from balconies as the Blessed Sacrament passes.
