Roses, thistles and shamrocks depicted on a standard now in Norwich Cathedral:

‘This standard was issued to the 7th Princess Royal’s Dragoon Guards in 1838 and was handed over to the Royal Hospital Chelsea in 1866 for safe keeping.  On September 28th 1947 it was given back to the Regiment and received on parade by Lieut General Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart V.C. Colonel of the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.  On October 12th 1947 the Standard was handed over to the Dean of Norwich Bishop H.S. Barbe Holland for custody in the Cathedral.’
