The Metro of 26 November 2020 devoted a page to ‘Enchanting London Legends’ one of which explained why Green Park in central London has no flowerbeds. Apparently King Charles II used to pick flowers in the Park for his wife, Catherine of Barganza. When she discovered that he was also gathering flowers for other women she ordered the removal of every flowerbed in the Park.
