According to a report in The Times of  16 November 2023 there is a growing demand for ‘hen hotels’, where chicken-owners can leave their pets when they go on holidays.  Caroline Nevard who owns Henidorm in Beckenham, Kent, told a reporter that ‘she grows nettles [Urtica dioica] between the coops to stop the spread of airborne diseases and feeds the dried leaves to the birds as a health boost “much like spinach”‘.
