Saturday 26 July, Plant Folklore Walk on Mitcham Common, London Borough of Merton, starting at 3 p.m. and continuing for about 75 minutes; free, booking unnecessary.

Report:  Approximately 12 people turned up to join in gentle stroll around a small area of the Common adjacent to the Ecology Centre.  Once again the leader stressed that it is the commonest plants which attract the most folklore.  Thus we started by discussing greater plantain (Plantago major) and finished by examining stinging nettles (Urtica dioica).  Most of the  participants joined in the discussions, and all seem to have enjoyed it.
