Two events at the South London Botanical Institute early in March:

Tuesday 4 March:  Turning Leaves – learning about pavement plants with Richard  Choksey and Roy Vickery, for Lambeth residents aged 18-25, 6 – 9 p.m. Postponed; please contact info@slbi.org.uk for updates.

Report: This event eventually took place on 27 March, when six participants joined Maria Cabrera of the SLBI and the leader to spend a while walking around the local streets and discussing the ‘weeds’ growing on pavements and in front gardens.  As it was rather early in the year for these plants to be abundant we returned to the Institute where after a short break we examined and discussed some of the native plants growing in its garden  It appears that participants enjoyed their time with us.

Sunday 9 March:  Plant-lore for Walk Leaders –  a workshop for people who lead plant walks and would like to introduce traditional uses and folklore of plants to their events, with Roy Vickery, 10.15 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
