Note added 18 August 2025: On the morning of 7 July 2025 a service was held at St Paul’s Cathedral to commemorate the anniversary. During this 52,000 (artificial) white petals ‘floated down from the dome … glinting in the sunlight, representing [according to the Bishop of London’s address] ”the unrelieved sorrow” at the loss of 52 people, 20 years ago’.
