According to a report in Metro of 2 October 2023, Steve Whitworth, of Oakley Farms in Cambridgeshire, pumpkins (Cucurbita maxima) are ‘bigger and plumper than usual this year due to the washout summer’. The weather has been perfect for pumpkins. Oakley Farms will be supplying five million pumpkins to Tesco supermarkets.
