11 November 2020 was the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior – a British soldier killed during the First World War – in Westminster Abbey, where a ceremony was held in the presence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall (the Prince’s great-grandfather, King George V, attended the 1920 internment).
The Warrior’s body was brought by train to Victoria station on 10 November 1920 and remained on the train, on platform 8 overnight before it was taken to the Abbey.
Wreaths placed beside the entrance to platform 8, photographed 16 November 2020.
