St Rita (1381-1457), is considered, like St Jude (see elsewhere on this website), to be patron of desperate cases or ‘impossible causes’, especially matrimonial difficulties.

In Granada, Spain, two churches contain chapels dedicated to her, and on the 22nd of each month (Rita died on 22 May), people, visit these to pray and present flowers.

The photograph here, taken on 15 February 2026, shows what is considered to be the less important of these chapels, that in Corpus Christi Church.
